CJA eVoucher is the Electronic Voucher Management System for use by court-appointed counsel. The system allows for electronic submission, management, and approval of CJA vouchers. The U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts implemented eVoucher on September 1, 2014. The eVoucher program allows for:
- Online authorization requests by attorneys for service providers.
- Online voucher completion by the service provider, or by the attorney acting for the service provider.
- Online voucher review and submission by the attorney.
- Online submission to the court.
Beginning February 21, 2021, attorneys and experts will login to eVoucher using an email address and password. If you have more than one eVoucher account, you will be able to link them to a single login and switch between accounts from within eVoucher without having to maintain separate logins. Click here for more information on Single Login Profile (SLP).

CJA Expert Billing
Effective December 11, 2017, all expert (CJA-21) vouchers submitted through the eVoucher system must be itemized to include a line item for each hourly rate and number of hours worked at that rate. Each new hourly rate will require a new line item. The court will no longer accept summary voucher submissions for expert services. For timely processing, please ensure that all vouchers are itemized.
