Fees, Payments, and Interest Rates

Fee Schedule

The fees included in the District Court Fee Schedule are to be charged for services provided by the district courts. The Court accepts cash, credit cards, money orders and checks for all filing fees and miscellaneous fees. Cash. Money orders and checks are accepted at both the Boston Court and Springfield Court while credit cards can only be accepted in person at the Boston court house. The Worcester Court currently only accept check or money orders. Additionally, credit cards are accepted via a valid CMECF Account through Pay.gov. For the payment of registry funds, criminal penalties and bail bonds, the Court will accept cash, checks, and money orders only. All fees are payable to the "Clerk, United States District Court."

This schedule is issued in accordance with 28 U.S.C. §§ 1913, 1914(b), 1926, 1930 and 1932.

Post Judgment Interest Rates

The post-judgment interest rate is the weekly average one-year constant maturity Treasury yield for the calendar week preceding the date of the entry of judgment. Effective December 21, 2000, the rate of interest that may be added to a judgment is subject to the provisions of 28 U.S.C. §1961, 18 U.S.C. §3612, and 40 U.S.C. §3116 (formerly cited as 40 U.S.C. §258e-1, August 21, 2002).
