Courthouse Parking Information

FROM THE NORTH

*   Coming over the Tobin Bridge or Southbound on Interstate 93, take the Purchase Street/South Station exit (exit 23). ** Once on the exit, stay in the left lane.

* At the first set of traffic lights, turn left onto Seaport Boulevard. (Sign states: So. Boston via Seaport Blvd.)

*  Go over the Evelyn Moakley bridge.

*  Follow to the first set of lights and take a left onto Sleeper Street.

*  The Moakley Courthouse is straight ahead. Take a right onto Northern Avenue for parking.

FROM THE SOUTH

* Coming from Interstate 93 North (Southeast Expressway)

* Stay to your right and take Exit 20 towards Logan Airport/South Boston.

* After the first exit on the off ramp (South Station), stay to the left.

* Take the Logan Airport/South Boston exit on the off ramp.

* Enter the tunnel staying to the right. Take the South Boston exit (first exit in the tunnel).

* Stay straight towards Seaport Boulevard.

* Go straight through 2 sets of lights and follow around the curve to the left.

* The Moakley Courthouse is the last building on the right.

FROM STORROW DRIVE

* Take Storrow Drive East to Leverett Circle and follow the signs for Interstate 93 South/Logan Airport.

* Once on Interstate 93 South (Southeast Expressway), follow the directions for "From the North" above.

FROM TED WILLIAMS TUNNEL (Logan Airport)

* Take Route 1A towards the airport.

* Go through the Ted Williams tunnel and take the first exit (Exit 25).

* Go straight through 2 sets of lights and follow around the curve to the left.

* The Moakley Courthouse is the last building on the right.

FROM THE WEST

* Follow the MassPike East/Interstate 90 and take the Logan Airport/South Boston extension.

* Stay to the right and take the first exit (Exit 25) South Boston.

* Bear left off the ramp towards Seaport Blvd.

* Go straight through 2 sets of lights and follow around the curve to the left.

* The Moakley Courthouse is the last building on the right.

BY PUBLIC TRANSPORATION

Public transportation fees range from $1.70 to $2.00 (Subway) and $1.25 to $1.50 (Bus).

* From Downtown Crossing and South Station
The Number 7 bus will stop in the Downtown Crossing area at Summer and Otis Streets and bring you to South Station. From South Station take the new 'silver line'.The first stop is the Courthouse. Please follow all signs for the Moakley Courthouse.

* From North Station
The Number 4 bus will run from North Station to Sleeper Street between Old Northern Avenue and Seaport Boulevard, one block from the Courthouse. Between 7-9AM and 4-6PM only.

* Express buses from the North Shore
Express buses run from the North Shore to the Fan Pier area. The Numbers 448, 449 and 459 travel from Marblehead, Salem and Revere and stop at Sleeper and Congress Streets (the Children's Museum stop) which is just one block from the Courthouse.

* Water Shuttle from the South Shore
The water shuttle from Hingham stops at Rowes Wharf/ Boston Harbor Hotel, a short walk from the Courthouse.

WALKING INFORMATION

* From South Station (Red Line and Commuter Rail)
North on Atlantic Ave (South Station exit is at the corner of Atlantic Avenue and Summer Street) - cross Summer and Congress Streets. Take a right across either Old Northern Avenue bridge or the Evelyn Moakley bridge to the Courthouse. Walking Time: Approximately 11 minutes.

* From State Street (Orange line and Blue Line)
Devonshire Street exit from T. East on Devonshire 1 block. Left on Water Street. Cross Congress Street. After 1 short block, first right on Oliver Street (no sign). Oliver Street for 3 blocks, left on High Street. At present, pedestrian walkway near foot of High Street leads across Purchase Street and Big Dig to Atlantic Avenue. Across Atlantic Avenue, right for 1 block, cross Old Northern Avenue bridge to the Courthouse. Walking Time: Approximately 13 minutes.

* From Aquarium (Blue Line)
Follow signs for the Aquarium. Cross over Atlantic Avenue and take a right. Walk approximately 1/4 of a mile and take a left onto the Old Northern Avenue Bridge. The Courthouse will be on your left.

* From North Station (Orange & Green Line and Commuter rail)
Across Causeway Street and down Canal Street or Portland Street (2 blocks). You will be facing New Chardon Street and the Government Center Garage. Right to intersection of New Chardon Street and Congress Street and take Congress Street under garage. Continue for 6 blocks, then left on Water Street. After one short block, first right on Oliver Street (no sign). Oliver Street for 3 blocks, left on High Street. At present pedestrian walkway near the foot of High Street leads across Purchase Street and the Big Dig to Atlantic Avenue. Across Atlantic Avenue, right for 1 long block. Cross the Old Northern Avenue bridge. Walking Time: Approximately 25 minutes.

COURTHOUSE PARKING INFORMATION

* Use the parking lots adjacent to the Courthouse. Parking fees range from $10.00 to $13.00 per day.
